Today we want to show you a great catch, the Roosterfish.
It is not migratory species, but territorial, Jaco Beach Rooster fishing is consistent year round, but a higher number of fishes are caught when water conditions are specially good.
Roosterfish can be found by coming with us and letting our expeienced crew take you to the best spots to catch some great Roosterfishes. Their habitat is in tropical waters, no cool, not warms water, the fishing conditions are especially favorable when waters are somewhat cloudy, not totally clear and not dirty at all where fish can’t see bait.

Rooster Fishing in Jaco using lures is difficult, so bait is needed to catch them, specially live bait (Lady Fish or rainbow runner); if live bait is not possible then butterfly cut is a special technique used: to cut the fish beggining from its tail to the head side by side trying to remove all its bone. Maybe how it moves make this bait special attractive for Rooster.
